PDP was founded in 1996 by Dr. Prahlad D. Pant. Dr. Pant performed the initial R&D on Smart Work Zone Systems while a professor of Civil Engineering at the University of Cincinnati. In 1995, he published and presented the first ever paper on Smart Work Zone Systems at IEEE, the world’s largest professional organization for technology. His team at PDP have continued since developing high quality smart work zone systems incorporating cutting edge technology.

PDP has installed smart work zone systems in NH, CT, MD, NJ, OH, KY, WI, MO, OK, AR, NC, SC, GA, FL, CO, and TX. Some of these systems have generated awards for the Departments of Transportation that have installed them, such as the one awarded in 2011 to Connecticut DOT below for a system provided by PDP.
